I bought this unit as part of a urine capture system (UniSuck) for my bedridden wife. The vacuum pump is reportedly “low noise”, I would hate to hear what the manufacturer considers “high noise”! So I built an acoustic foam panels-lined cardboard enclosure, complete with a 6 inch air gap at the floor and multiple warm air vent holes near the top. Nonetheless, it overheated and was making loud clacking sounds when I returned three hours later… and hadn’t collected even one drop of urine.I acknowledge that I was using the pump in a way that is not compliant with the manufacturer’s recommendations; undoubtedly the sound insulation enclosure also contributed to the overheating problem, as did running it beyond their 30 minute time window (I didn’t notice this until after its failure). So the loud noise it makes when working would be near deafening in a small room. Buyer beware. I doubt it will please many veterinarians?
